Getting started

How does InboxIQ clean my inbox?

We scan your inbox metadata to find the senders filling it up — newsletters, promotions, and spam. You review them, and we mute the ones you don't want: archiving the existing backlog and filtering future mail.

What does the free scan include?

Connecting Gmail and scanning your inbox is free — you'll see your top senders, newsletters, and a time-wasted estimate. Muting senders and phishing detection require a subscription.

Muting & filters

What does 'mute' actually do?

It archives every existing email from that sender out of your inbox (they stay in All Mail) and creates a Gmail filter that sends their future emails straight to Trash.

What is 'Automuting Tomorrow'?

Newsletters and promotions you haven't replied to are queued for muting 24 hours out, shown with a live countdown. We send a heads-up in your daily summary the day before. Hit Keep to spare any sender you actually want, or Mute now to do it immediately.

Will I lose emails I care about?

Senders you've replied to are protected automatically and never muted. Existing mail is archived (still in All Mail), and you can unmute any sender from the Muted tab — which deletes the filter so their mail returns to your inbox.

A sender is still emailing me after I muted them — why?

Filters apply to mail that arrives after the filter is created, and Gmail can take a short while to catch up. New messages from muted senders go to Trash going forward.

Billing & subscription

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to Settings → Manage Subscription → Cancel. You'll keep premium access until the end of your current billing period.

Can I get a refund?

Payments are non-refundable except where required by law. If you think a charge was made in error, email support@joininboxiq.com and we'll take a look.

How am I billed?

Securely through Stripe, on a recurring basis until you cancel. We never store your card number or CVV on our servers.

Privacy & data

Do you read my emails?

No. We only read metadata — sender, subject, and date — never the body or content of your messages. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.

Do you sell my data?

Never. We don't sell, trade, or use your data for advertising. The only third parties involved are Google (Gmail access) and Stripe (payments).

Account & deletion

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Delete My Account. We remove your stored data and the Gmail filters we created for you. You'll see exactly which senders are affected before you confirm.

How do I revoke Gmail access?

From your Google Account permissions. Note that revoking access doesn't cancel a subscription or remove existing filters — cancel and delete your account first if you want a clean slate.
